It took me long time to start making porridge as I remember it from my childhood as a soggy and slimy substance. In the summer I turn oats into granola and have it with yoghurt and fruits but during cold months I need something warm to start my day. Porridge is healthy and delicious. Rich in proteins and amino acids, vitamins B1, B6, E and flavonoids. This one is easy and quick to make and CONTAINS CHOCOLATE. Swap dark chocolate for milk chocolate and your porridge will taste like a famous chocolate bar. 😉 🍫
Coconut porridge with chocolate and berries
Ingredients
1/2 cup of oats
3/4 cup of almond milk
1 heaped tbsp of coconut milk
1 tbsp of desiccated coconut
pinch of salt
2 squares of dark chocolate
handful of fresh berries
2 tbsp of maple syrup
Method
Put oats, almond milk, desiccated coconut and salt into a pot, bring to boil and cook for up to 5 minutes. Add coconut milk and boil again. Transfer into a bowl. Decorate with chopped chocolate, berries and maple syrup. Enjoy!
